To start using Notty, sign up for a Notty Account and follow the instructions. It can take up to 10 minutes for your profile and scores to be ready, but we will let you know.

No, we never do a credit check on you to set up your Notty Account or to access our finance offers in the Notty Market Place.
Notty acts as a broker not a lender for all finance products, so we do not perform a credit check when you search our list of lenders in the Notty Market. However, if you are looking for finance and select one of our lenders, they may perform a credit check that will be seen on your credit file.

Your Social Score shows how interactive you are on social media, across different platforms. The more you use it, the higher the score!
Many employers will look at your Social Media Profile to see what type of person you are and if you are the right person for that business, or even if you have truly been off sick or want a day off.
Your Social Media Profile can show prospective employers a different view of you compared to information in your CV, including additional skills and abilities, knowledge and personality traits, that show if you are the right person for the position.

The Dark Web is part of the much larger Deep Web, which is an area of the internet which has not been indexed by any search engines, such as Google, Bing and Yahoo. You need specific software and browsers to access the Deep Web and mostly contains things such as banking, academic info, medical records, legal documents and government resources.
The Dark Web is a small fragment of this that is mainly used for illegal activities such as pornography, black market trading, hacking groups, drugs, hitmen and botnet operations.
Some parts of the Dark Web are used for good. Many dissidents like the anonymity of the Dark Web and it is especially useful in closed totalitarian societies to voice opinions or to speak out.
It is unlikely the average person would be able to access the Dark Web, where we have the ability to do this for you and check to see if your personal information is for sale on there.

The Fraud Web Full looks for much more information and will be able to identify if your whole identity is at risk or just part of it.This search includes your address, bank account details, credit cards, passport, national insurance number and driving licence.It is only £5 a month but could save your whole identity from being stolen.

Opening a Notty Account is free and we do not charge for our basic services, such as your Social Profile, Social Score and Dark Web Search. For our Notty Account holders we offer a 50% discount on our CyberCare package, that includes 12 months McAfee, CyberDNA and a Free Warranty, for a total price of £19.50.

Finance
In the Notty Market, we will compare a variety of loans for you to choose from. How much you can borrow depends on your circumstances and what type of loan you are applying for.
For example, a Home Owner Loan can go up to and over £100,000, where as an Unsecured Loan will never be more than £25,000 but can start as low as £100.
Each lender is different in how they look at your circumstances, with some having stricter rules than others.

If you have multiple bank accounts, loans or finance, this will also affect your ability to obtain finance. Having no credit history can be as bad as having a bad credit history. Those obtaining finance for the first time may struggle as lenders have no evidence of whether the finance will be repaid.

A large proportion of Social Media users post information about how they live their lives, where they spend money and this information can be used to assess a person’s ability to repay a loan.

Yes, some finance companies will look at your Social Media Accounts. From this they can make decisions as to whether you are a high risk in repaying finance or if you have been honest, or not, on your application form.
